Armidale LGA

Armidale LGA joins “Greater Sydney” in lockdown for 1 week from 5pm on 7 August 2021 until 12:01am on 15 August 2021.
 
Level of Restrictions
Persons whose principal place of residence or who are residing in accommodation within the Armidale LGA will now face restrictions similar to those currently in place for the “Greater Sydney
 
Leaving home to go to work

  1. Residents must not leave home to work within the LGA unless:

  • it is not reasonably practicable for the employee to work at the employee’s place of residence, and

  • if the person is required to visit another person’s place of residence to engage in work—the person is authorised under clause 22A in the Public Health Order (“PHO”).

  1. Residents must not leave home to work outside of the LGA unless:

  • it is not reasonably practicable for the employee to work at the employee’s place of residence, and

  • if the person is required to visit another person’s place of residence to engage in work—the person is authorised under clause 22A in the PHO.

  • carry evidence showing the address of the person’s place of residence or temporary accommodation, and

  • produce the evidence for inspection if requested to do so by a police officer.

 
Restrictions for non-residents entering the LGA
A person outside of this LGA must not, without a reasonable excuse as per Schedule 1 in the PHO enter into this LGA.
 
Leaving home for food and exercise

  1. Must not travel more than 10km from home for either exercise or obtaining food and other essential items.

  2. Must carry evidence of their place of residence and produce this evidence for inspection if requested to do so by a Police Officer.

 
Closure of certain businesses
Many of the retail businesses under Clause 24 in the PHO are to be closed during the lockdown.  However, members retail operations including selling vehicles to the public, are  only permitted if

  • a “click and collect” service, where a person buys, returns or exchanges goods by telephone or online and then attends the retail premises to collect, exchange or return the goods, or

  • delivering goods to a person’s place of residence or other premises after the person has bought the goods by telephone or online”

Businesses that are allowed to be opened must incorporate and comply with the approved COVID-19 Safety Plan.
 

 
Parts of City of Penrith

Part of Penrith Local Government Area (12 suburbs within) is in lockdown from 5pm on 8 August 2021 until 12:01am on 28 August 2021.

Persons whose principal place of residence or who are residing in accommodation within the suburbs of

  • Claremont Meadows

  • Caddens

  • Colyton

  • Erskine Park

  • Kemps Creek

  • Kingswood

  • Mount Vernon

  • North St Mary’s

  • Orchard Hills

  • Oxley Park

  • St Clair

  • St Marys

 
Level of Restrictions
Persons whose principal place of residence or who are residing in accommodation within the above 12 suburbs will now face additional restrictions similar to those currently in place for the “Declared Areas” (i.e. Blacktown, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Georges River, Liverpool, Parramatta, LGAs).
 
Leaving home to go to work

  1. Residents must not leave home to work within the Penrith LGA unless:

  • it is not reasonably practicable for the employee to work at the employee’s place of residence, and

  • if the person is required to visit another person’s place of residence to engage in work—the person is authorised under clause 22A.

  1. Residents must not leave home to work outside of the Penrith LGA unless:

  • they are an “Authorised Worker” The list of those persons classified as “Authorised Worker” can be found at www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/rules. We remind members that workers in transport and warehousing are classified as “Authorised Workers

 
Leaving home for food and exercise

  1. Must not travel more than 5km from home for either exercise or obtaining food and other essential items. Importantly, the exception contained in Schedule 1 of the PHO to leave your home to obtain goods or services for household purposes does not apply to the newly listed suburbs in the Penrith LGA.

  2. Must carry evidence of their place of residence and produce this evidence for inspection if requested to do so by a Police Officer.

 
Working at construction sites within the Penrith LGA

  1. Members who provide services to businesses in the Construction Industry need to be aware that Construction sites are to close unless the work is urgently required for the following purposes—

  • to ensure the safety or security of the construction site,

  • to deal with environmental risks,

  • to maintain and ensure the integrity of critical plant, equipment or assets, including partially completed works, that would otherwise deteriorate,

  • to receive deliveries of supplies that would otherwise deteriorate,

  • to maintain public utilities,

  • to ensure the safe operation of existing transport infrastructure,

  • by or on behalf of NSW Health in response to the COVID-19 pandemic,

  • because of an emergency.

 
Face coverings
Face coverings over both the person’s nose and mouth at all times in both indoor and outdoor areas.

Customers Travelling into these Suburbs
Members need to be aware that persons are prohibited from travelling into the listed suburbs under the PHO, for the purpose of obtaining goods or services.
 
 
Tamworth LGA

Today the New South Government announced that the Tamworth LGA joins “Greater Sydney” in lockdown for 1 week commencing 5pm on 9 August until 12:01am on 17 August 2021
 
Level of Restrictions
Members will be provided with further information after Public Health Order updated. For now, it is understood that Tamworth LGA has the same restrictions listed above for the Armidale LGA.
