Lockdown for Greater Sydney Extended until end of September

Members should be aware that at the press conference held by the Premier this morning at 11.00am a number of new restrictive practices and rules have been imposed across both Greater Sydney and Regional New South Wales.

Lockdown in Regional New South Wales Extended

In the press conference on Thursday 19 August, the NSW Premier has announced that the stay-at-home order for all of Regional NSW area will be extended to 12:01am on 28 August 2021 to align with the rest of NSW. The level of restrictions for all of Regional NSW area remain unchanged. Members will be provided with further information if any further changes exist after the Public Health Order (“PHO”) has been updated.

Stay at Home Orders now apply across the whole of Regional New South Wales

The stay at home restrictions which apply across the Greater Sydney Area now apply across all of Regional New South Wales until 22nd August, 2021. New Public Health Order (PHO) extend the lockdown imposed on Armidale, Tamworth, Far North Region, Hunter/Newcastle and the Northern Rivers region. Restrictions on people movement mean Members need to consider if employees can work from home and restrictions on Retail Operations. New provision added that requires persons to answer questions of Contact Tracers

Dubbo Lockdown And Victoria Border Bubble

Dubbo will be in a 1-week lockdown commencing at 1pm on 11 August 2021 under the same restrictions as Armidale and Tamworth. From 6 pm on 13 August 2021, people wanting to use the NSW-Victoria border bubble will need to apply for a permit. Members should review their operations to ascertain which staff are able to work from home and also what customers if any are travelling to attend to a Member’s business.

Norther Rivers Region in Lockdown from 6pm Monday 9th August, 2021 until 17th August, 2021. Additional restrictions on people movement within and into the region imposed

Recent Lockdowns Across New South Wales

Armidale Local Government Area (“LGA”) in lockdown for 1 week. As well as part of Penrith LGA, which are in lockdown until 12:01am on 28 August 2021. Tamworth LGA also included in lockdown for 1 week.

12 suburbs within Penrith Local Government Area (LGA) have additional restrictions on people movement. With restrictions commencing at 5.00pm on 8th August, 2021. Members will be provided with further information after Public Health Order updated.

Hunter Region in COVID Lockdown

The NSW Premier has announced a one-week lockdown of both the Hunter and Upper Hunter regions. Residents and businesses located with these regions will have to observe the same restrictions as Greater Sydney. The Public Health Order will be updated overnight and if any further changes are specified Members will be advised.
